Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Lovely coffee and cakes. Great fresh Christmas trees in December."
"Update 2026: Now in the back garden they only use takeaway items, which is now so much waste. None of the products are even easily composted. Really ruins the experience and don’t know why they’ve done this. Perfect cafe stop. Stopped there today mid cycle, the outside area was amazing. Also great coffee (Yellow Bourbon) and food, the service was also great. One of our favourite places now to stop on a cycle in the area!"
"it was a lovely café, coffee was nice and the food was both good value and quality. Only strange thing was that you have to queue to order and then take a seat but nobody is proactively taking orders. They’re all also working on preparing drinks and food. So there was just one person ahead of me and I still waited for more than five minutes to be served. I suggest they do table orders rather than leaving people waiting because I can’t imagine what it would be like if there was a long queue."
"Soper & Co are genuinely my favourite place to go for coffee. The quality of the coffee is superior to Starbucks and Costa, the staff are uber warm and welcoming which makes the experience a lot nicer for someone with autism like myself. And the atmosphere is honestly really calming, I never feel rushed or unwanted in the shop. Their little gift shop on the side is really cute and great value for money too. All in all, I cannot sing Soper & Co's praises from the rooftops any louder"
"Fantastic place. Was there the day the tour of Britain cycle event came through and unbeatably they had a surge of people come in. But they handled it all brilliantly, and served with a smile. They were friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and served quickly to our table despite how busy it was. The inside is way bigger than you think and they’ve used the space brilliantly, making it feel cosy but not cramped. Very impressed with all of it!"
"We thought this was a little coffee bar that did take outs. How wrong we were. After ordering at the bar we were lead through an alleyway to a lovely courtyard with relaxed seating. There is also further seating in "Billy's Barn". The coffee was lovely and the pastries and bagel we ordered were lovely. We have settled on our favourite local coffee place"
"Lovely village cafe that my husband and I have frequented a fair few times since we moved into the village. Lovely friendly staff, great coffee and the cafe and garden/barn area is lovely. Haven’t gotten around to having a look around the shop as yet but intend to try and shop local for Christmas this year where possible and will buy what I can here. Also must mention great walks on the doorstep! Perfect before the reward of a coffee and a snack afterwards to refuel/warm up."
"Lovely place I just stopped by for a cappuccino to take back to the library while I was in town working. The lady who served me was very polite professional friendly and I'm definitely going back for a more leisurely stop off! I took some photos of the interior and outside front. However they do have from what I could see is a lovely outdoor seated area in the back. The treats on display looked very delicious and tempting!"
